Broker Network adds to new start up numbers

Preston-based broker Fulwood Insurance Services has signed up to Broker Network’s new start-up proposition launched last month.Fulwood was formerly a member of the Ten Network, and its involvement takes the total number of start ups to six.
Broker Network expects its start-up proposition to attract a further 10 brokers in 2010, and is currently in discussions with “several other brokers”, it said in a statement.
Fulwood will use Broker Network’s insurer services as it prepares for FSA authorisation.
The broker will use the Acturis training programme designed to allow it to benefit from Broker Network’s full insurer reconciliation facility.
The broker will also be amongst the first start-ups to utilise Broker Network’s ability to offer automatic agencies for 200 Towergate products.
Fulwood Insurance Services founder Peter Norris said: “This level of support is just what we needed to make the leap from being an Appointed Representative to an FSA authorised broker. When we set up Fulwood in 2007, Ten was a good option to get us started, but we feel the time is right for us to take the next step and become FSA authorised and fully independent.
“We knew that as a small broker we’d need the support of a network to enable us gain agencies, help with compliance and generally give us the ability to punch above our weight”, he added.
