The Declaration, which was launcehd by the Chartered Insurance Institute on 4 March, is based on eight key principles and aims to raise standards in the general insurance sector through a commitment to a common industry framework which promotes professionalism.
Benedict Burke, chief executive officer at Crawford, UK & Ireland and a member of the Taskforce behind the declaration, said: “I anticipate the principles embedded within the Declaration will encourage the many progressive companies in the general insurance sector to commit to the framework which has now been established.
"Investing in our people and attracting new blood to the industry has never been more important as we build trust with the consumer and a culture of professionalism will assist us in fully harnessing this talent.”
